AmtrakPrivately owned car "Chickadee" tagged on the rear of westbound #686, the 4:00pm Downeaster on May 16, 2002. She will be sent to South Station and then on to Buffalo on the "Lake Shore" next week, where she is scheduled for some refurbishing. "Chickadee" was originally Boston & Maine #4806 "Chickadee", part of an order of eight coaches ordered from Pullman Standard's Osgood Bradley plant in 1947. The car was delivered with fluted siding but it was removed due to rusting behind the fluting. She has spent the last several years at Auburn, ME as the St. Lawrence & Atlantic business car. She will be in tourist service in the Niagra Falls area.
