A Unique RDCBaltimore & Ohio #1961, preserved at the B&O Museum in Baltimore, Md., is not your typical RDC-2. One of only two cars of its type, it was built for the road's "Daylight Speedliner" service between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.
Instead of the normal arrangement of baggage room and coach seating, the 1961 and sister 1960 had a small kitchen and a 24-seat dining section between the baggage area and the small coach section at the rear of the car.
The cars provided dining service and lounge space on the unique streamliner; each set also included two standard RDC-1 full coaches. The 1960 is also preserved; it's at the Danbury Railway Museum in Danbury, Conn.
