A track crew awaits the arrival of the loaded flatcar. Once the train is secure, the crew will begin shovelling the stone off the car and onto the track underneath the flatcar. The open spaces in the ties where stone has already been dropped are locations where track jacks will be used next spring to raise and level the track.
