Derailment On Housatonic RRHeavy machinery from a rigging outfit is seen righting a pair of derailed boxcars on the Housatonic RR in the town of Lee, Mass. on Sunday morning, March 17, 2013. Four cars in all derailed sometime Friday night or early Saturday morning, including two large open gons filled with recycling material. The two gons were still on the ground when I left and it looked like they had been dragged away from the wreck site. The remainder of the cars were hauled south by the HRRC 3602 and parked on a siding in the center of Lee. The HRRC crews will now focus on repairing the damaged track.
