Putting some of the "Glory" in the "Glory Days"White River Junction was certainly B & M country back in the day, and more than likely these two heritage painted GP9r's worked these lines under their old B&M road numbers, and many past layers of paint.
The recent "Glory Days" of the railroad brought out some of the best display of locomotives anywhere, and here are these old beauties from Pan Am. The B&M 77, which has appeared in WRJ for the third year in a row, had some company this year with the MEC 52, finally getting it's railfan due !
The 52 was originally B&M 1726, then rebuilt and renumbered to the 1826. The 77 was originally B&M 1738 and rebuilt and renumbered to the 1838.
The Glory Days brought out many devoted railfans, and I am sure created a lots of new railfans too !
