Photo of Pan Am MOAY entering Ayer
Pan Am MOAY entering Ayer

Back before the lead engine was rebuilt as an SD40-3 and later repainted and renumbered to MEC 611, it was an ex-SP SD45. As the NS-PAR joint venture Pan Am Southern is only one month old when this photo was taken at the end of May 2009, apparently the hordes of NS diesels weren't routinely assigned to this intermodal train which hadn't yet been renamed 22K.

Photographed by John Barlow, May 31, 2009.
