This section was cleared in during the winter of 2008-2009 by the volunteers of the WW&F Railway museum at the request of the land owner. It was cleared to create the Head Tide trail for pedestrian use between Head Tide village and the Midcoast Conservancy's Trout Brook Preserve. The WW&F continues to maintain this trail until such time it is needed again for the railroad.
