Photo of Laconia Motorcycle Week
Laconia Motorcycle Week

Even though this past Friday's (6/14) forecast was for doom & gloom, the weather overall was OK that day for the 101st Laconia Motorcycle Week festivities.

Among the thousands of fine motorcycles parked on Lakeside Avenue, lurked a "Hot Rod" on the rails powered by a large V16 power plant kicking out 1500 vintage horsepower from an almost 74 year old GP7..

The Bike Week Train consist featured a locomotive on each end, with P&L 302 on the north end & P&L 1590 (SW1001) on the south end, pulling two Budd RDC's and two modified Lackawanna table cars in the middle.

Bike week trains ran from Meredith to Weirs, and south for the first time to the Laconia Passenger Station so passengers can park their cars and take an easy ride to Weirs and back.

Progressive Insurance was a major Bike Week sponsors.
