Maiden Lady CoveHere was a recent Winni Scenic train pushing back to Meredith passing over the Maiden Lady Cove causeway in Laconia, north of Weirs Beach.
In numerous recent articles, it was reported that 40 years ago New Jersey Transit retired their fleet of Lackawanna Multiple Unit (MU) cars for good that ran in commuter rail service over the electrified Morristown branch in the Garden State.
These two visible coaches are former Lackawanna MU cars, built by Pullman around 1930. These Lackawannas were heavily modified to have open vestibules with the interiors redesigned to offer table seating for 4 passengers per table. The cars still ride nice to this day.
P&L 105 was built for the New Orleans Public Belt Railway. The SW1000 was sold to the P&L in mid-2020. It was repainted in the P&L 1.0 colors in the winter of 2021.
