Scotia, NY SuperSteel LIRR locomotive

In an effort to recreate the glorious ALCO days in Schenectady, our elected officials convinced EMD through Super Steel to build a small assembly plant at the former Scotia Navy Depot. The orders of course, would be purchased by New York State for Amtrak and MTA. Funny that at the same time EMD had its eye on a Mexican plant where locomotives are now manufactured. SuperSteel lives on with a few crumbs from the states table.
