West Springfield Yard

We are working on these two ballast hoppers in West Springfield Yard to ready them for transit to Middletown, CT. where they will become Connecticut Central MOW hoppers.

Notice the laid over hoppers in the background. Conrail was nice enough to entertain us by dumping a half dozen loaded ballast cars on their side as we watched.

Photographed by Bob Niesyn, 1998.
Added to the photo archive by Robert Niesyn, March 21, 2004.
Railroad: Conrail.
