Boston & Worcester Street Railway in Southboro, MA

This bridge abutment is located on Parkerville Road about a half mile south of Route 9, the Boston and Worcester Turnpike, in Southborough, MA. The railway generally followed the turnpike, but curved south here to avoid two steep hills. The line has been gone since the 1920's and now the right of way has been obliterated because of housing developments.
