Staging Area

From 1996 until 1998, the VRR had several bridges out of service, leaving only a mainline open as far north as Deep River. The staging area during construction of the new bridges was here at Chester Station. Note the old North Chester station on the flat car (where it sat from 1993 until c 2000), which is now at Goodspeed Yard. Behind the trailer is the Chester "depot" which was once the NHRR depot at Quinnipiac, near Cedar Hill Yard.

Photographed by Jay Hogan, October, 1998.
Added to the photo archive by Jay Hogan, May 17, 2004.
Railroad: Valley Railroad.
