Crowleys Junction - Moody Road looking north.

A mile or so south of the Rt196 crossing is a crossing on Moody Road. If my head scratching and map reading were right this crossing should have been in or very near the Y branching off towards Leeds Jct. on the MEC BackRoad. This line was taken out of service 50 odd years ago and, as I understand it used for storing cars during WWII. I don't know when the track was taken up. Despite several careful traverses of RT196 we didn't find any sign of the track or roadbed from Crowleys to Leeds. At this point it looks like the state of Maine has been doing some tack upkeep. The ballast is good and the brush has been knocked back a bit. This is typical of much of the State maintained trackage we saw. /DL
