When the Connecticut Central began operations in the "Middletown Cluster" as it was variously known, their operating authority ended at Middlefield and ConRail still operated the rest of the route to Cedar Hill. The "Division Point" was marked by a derail on the main track at Middlefield, seen in the foreground.
