In July of 2001 The Connecticut Valley Railroad in Essex Ct celebrated their 30th Anniversary.
This engine is a GE built Cummins 80 ton centercab. The unit was Pfizer Pharmaceuticals' #1 at that Company's Groton Ct plant. The unit was retired when the SW-8s arrived at the plant. SW-8 #1 which replaced this unit was an ex Rock Island unit picked up by Pfizer at Silvas Illinois (former Rock Island shops now Chrome Crankshaft).
