Boston & Worcester Locomotive Journal, February 1835A page from the "Locomotive Jurnal" [sic] of the Boston & Worcester R.R. (Boston & Albany predecessor), detailing events relating to three locomotives: "Meteor," "Comet" and "Yankee." The locomotives had to be rescued from derailments or breakdowns by local farmers' ox teams. This was a glass plate photo negative that was probably given to my grandfather, Don M. Leonard, by his boss at the B&A. In the early 1900s my grandfather was secretary to the vice president of the B&A, which was leased by the New York Central. I have sold the original plate to a writer on railroad history.
