Pan Am Railways EDRJ heads out of town at 11:45 am on Saturday, 12/22/2007. I was expecting a leisurely chase out west to Hoosac Tunnel and beyond. No such luck! Thanks to a massive maintenance blitz by Pan Am, track speeds are up significantly on the west end. Compounding the problem were the icy roads, which made any consideration of "heroic driving" absolutely out of the question.
