BML#52 when acquired new by the B&ML in 1951

BML#52 became the third new GE 70-ton diesel electric locomotive acquired by the B&MLRR when the road purchased it in May, 1951. It joined #'s 50 and 51 which the railroad also bought new in 1946 when the line converted from steam. BML#50 is still operational, #51 is on static display at the City Point Central Railroad Museum located two miles up the BML grade from Belfast, and #52 was scrapped in Belfast in 2009.
