There was a water tank at this location, fed by a lead pipe that came down from east of Route 175 and also watered the cemetery on the way down. Blair Bridge in the background.

The Pemigewasset Valley RR was built in 1881/2 between Plymouth and North Woodstock, NH. It was built mostly to serve the many hotels in the region. Serious logging did not come to the area for another 10 years when J.E. Henry moved his operations from Zealand to Lincoln. The clash between the wealthy summer tourists and the logging industry was the start of the conservation movement in New England.
