The northbound Amtrak Adirondack rockets by CPC-33 , and by two assembled High-speed cross overs for the double track project between CPC33 and CPC35. Many times the Northbound Amtrak train encounters 1 and occasionally 2 freight trains, usually one at CPC 33 and one in Saratoga Springs Yard, as well as the Ethan Allen which have all in the past caused half an hour to 45 minuet delays of the Adirondack. Adding this second track will relieve the congestion of trains in this area, and allow the passenger/ and freight trains to run more smoothly with fewer stops.
