Pan Am Railways FP9s No. 1 and 2 lead the PAR office car special train across the teeming waters of the Deerfield River at Bardwells Ferry in the town of Shelburne, Mass. I followed the train from North Adams but I wasn't sure if I could catch it again due to heavy truck traffic on Route 2 and a major detour near Charlemont. Luckily, however, the train made a stop near the east portal of the Hoosac Tunnel which gave me some extra minutes. The stainless steel dome car is a recent addition to the executive train.
