Double Alcos in Meredith NH

The rails north of Concord have some life in them. Sitting on the main by the train station in Meredith for the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad are two well preserved Alcos. The 1008 is an S1 built in 1949, and the 1186 is an S3 built in 1952. The passenger cars are former a former Budd RDC1 and a RDC9 that did their last tour of full time work on the MBTA's commuter lines.

Visitor Comments about this Photo:

While originally built as an S-3, 1186, at the time this photo was taken, had reverted to an S-1 (Blount trucks)
