A Pan Am Southern snowplow train extra rumbles westbound past the old train station in the town of Athol, Mass. There was just enough sunlight remaining on this late-afternoon to highlight the front of the plow and the train station. The plow train ran between East Deerfield and Royalston, Mass. and return. The train was powered by the B&M (ST) 77 and the MEC (ST) 52 with a plow at either end.
