Big Job At Charlemont, MA

A Pan Am Railways mobile truck crane is seen lifting an NS locomotive back on the track at Charlemont, MA on Sunday, May 15, 2016. Two engines and eight cars from train 22K derailed last Saturday afternoon (May 14th) just east of the Route 8A grade crossing. The engine seen here is the second trailing engine of three engines; I don't think the lead engine actually derailed. A large work force was brought in to clean up the derailment site and replace the track. The track was open for traffic again by early Tuesday morning, May 17th.
