MBTA CapeFlyer On Saturday June 4th, 2016Photographed here is the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority's (i.e., MBTA) 2008 clearing the historic railroad station located in West Barnstable, Massachusetts on the Cape Main Line. The locomotive for tonight's run was a MotivePower, Inc. (i.e., MPI) HSP46 numbered 2008. As one of the few HSP46s on the MBTA roster, it is also one of the youngest engines to be introduced to American railroads only about two or three years ago. However, rumor has it that the MBTA still has some of these on order through MotivePower, Inc. This particular train began its fourth summer of commuter rail service a little over a week ago between the Hyannis Railroad Depot in Hyannisport, Massachusetts and South Station in Boston, Massachusetts. MBTA F40PH - 2C 1059 was tied onto the south end of tonight's train.
