When Conrail GP15s ruled North Yard at Framingham

Here's a scan of a 35mm slide I think I took in February 1983 of a couple of GP15s lounging at the throat of the ex-NH North Yard in Framingham. IIRC, the reign of the GP15 was ended by a coup of the B23-7 GEs. Perhaps the most interesting item to me in this photograph is the NH era signal. At this point, IIRC, the yard tracks converged and there was a turnout providing two paths south - one that crossed over the Conrail main on a pair of diamonds just east of the Concord St crossing (protected by manually operated gates) to head to Medfield and the other track that headed west to Conrail's Nevins Yard where the road freights were received/built. I'm guessing the NH signal protected access to the diamonds? Anyone?
