A Pan Am Southern snowplow train is seen heading south down the Adams Branch at Hodges Cross Road at North Adams, Mass. on Feb. 15, 2017. The Adams Branch is owned by MassDOT with freight traffic leased to Pan Am. I was talking to an old-timer the other day and he said this is likely the first time a snowplow train traversed the Adams Branch. The branch used to extend all the way to Pittsfield, Mass. at one time.
