Eastbound "cross country" job crossing the Salmon Falls River that forms the boundary between ME and NH. The PC caboose is type N-8A rebuilt from a NH NE-6 type. PC cabooses were common on the BM in the seventies. They would come onto the BM at Rotterdam Jct and the BM wouldn't give back for a while.

great photograph! I love the roadnames on the last three boxcars...you know it's Maine railroading when...love the wealth of information you incorporate into the captions too.
