B&M Pacific at Boston Sand HouseThe Boston & Maine's coaling and sand plant at the East Somerville (Boston) engine terminal was massive and serviced six tracks. This is a section of the building where sand was delivered, dried, stored and delivered to pipes on the coaling tower. Steam was still active when I shot this but the fact that 3687 was on the sand delivery track was not a good sign. The Pacific was scrapped in Sept. 1956
