Boston & Maine GP9 1741 spent a year or so working South Side MBTA commuter trains during the transition period between traditional equipment and HEP-configured cars. It could usually be found on the Needham Branch, as on this summer evening when it waited with its train at Needham Junction station before deadheading back to South Station.
