Washboards at Bridgeport

A string of former New Haven "Washboard" MUs running as a Penn Central Grand Central-New Haven local enters the classic station at Bridgeport, CT, on a winter afternoon. This station was closed in 1973, replaced by the current one just to the west, and it was sadly destroyed by a fire six years later.

Photographed by Tom Nelligan, February, 1970.
Added to the photo archive by Tom Nelligan, January 8, 2018.
Railroad: Penn Central.
