rush hour at Boston Switch

Boston Switch was the New Haven's name for the location in Central Falls, RI, just south of the MA/RI state line, where the ancestral Boston & Providence and Providence & Worcester diverged. The tower at the junction, NH SS156, was closed in 1935 when its function was moved to nearby Woodlawn (SS154), but amazingly it still stands in 2018. Here Amtrak's (and EMD's) first F40PH cruises past the tower with a Washington-bound corridor train.
