Meriden's 1942-1970 station

A former New Haven GP9 brings a Springfield-New Haven train to a stop at Meriden, CT, in August 1970. Shortly after this photo was taken, the neat little 1942 station was demolished as part of a city redevelopment project and replaced by the modest blockhouse that then served until the current CT Rail station was constructed.

Photographed by Tom Nelligan, August, 1970.
Added to the photo archive by Tom Nelligan, December 14, 2018.
Railroad: Penn Central.
