Winnisquam Route 3 Crossing

Motorists were a little surprised to see the flashing red lights at this crossing come to life recently just east of the "Mosquito Bridge" on Route 3 in Winnisquam. The horns on the SW1500 were blowing loud and proud, as the New England Southern crew made their return run to Canterbury Yard from the Winnipesaukee Scenic's Meredith Yard.

The northbound train brought in over 2500 fresh new ties for the Winnipesaukee Scenic, with some 600 ties going back to NEGS territory. Also making the journey south was a refurbished work caboose that was headed to the MBTA with work performed at the Hobo Railroad's Lincoln shops.
