MEC 380 in Bow NHHere's one more from the rare high hood sighting of MEC 380 on 'These New Hampshire Rails". The NA-1 Crew left 380 on the south side of the Ferry Road crossing in Bow, and this is where she sat during that weekend.
MEC 380 was built in April 1966 as Norfolk and Western 1334. Pan Am has owned this high hooded workhorse for almost 22 years. Along with 380, 371 and 374 are in service on Pan Am's rails. 370, 373, 377, & 379 have been stored out-of-service for a good while in Waterville, Maine.
Factoids. This future museum piece was built before the original Star Trek debuted in the fall of 1966 on NBC. The Ballad of the Green Berets by Staff Sgt.Barry Sadler was the top pop song for most of April 1966. (Great song!) Bonanza was the #1 TV Show..
