Turbo At New Haven

Still in pre-Amtrak US DOT colors the United Aircraft Turbo after its station stop here in New Haven will whoosh nonstop to GCT New York. These units still hold the world speed record for gas turbine-powered rail vehicles, although that was achieved not on the Shore Line but on a test run between Trenton and New Brunswick. In September 1976, Amtrak ceased revenue runs of Turbotrain trainsets
