The Box Car That Time Forgot

This 36 foot Grand Trunk car was built in 1918 and was spotted in the Central Vermont yard in New London, CT. Was it still in revenue service? Look at the wooden door, bracing, car end construction and placement of the brake wheel.

Thanks for this photo. Interesting because it is GRAND TRUNK -- not Grand Trunk Western with which it is confused. I didn't think any of these wood cars were around this late and especially one lettered Grand Trunk, officially the Canadian National lines in New England. The GT ran from Portland, Maine to Island Pond, Vermont and on to Montreal.
