In the late afternoon sun, CP's Vermont locations had terrific visual appeal, seeming to promise immediate activity. Quite often one would learn, there was nothing pending for the next few hours. No doubt, a lot of pictures of idling RS-2s were taken for the same reason as this one at St. Johnsbury.
