What's the deal with all this brush cutting? They went to town on the Lowell line, cutting the brush WAY back, chopping 40+ year old large trees.

As I understand it, a few high wind winter storms brought down some pretty big tree limbs and tied up trains. I have not seen the Lowell line in a while, but the Needham line was looking like a national forest in some places.

I wonder if this cutting also has something to do with those wooden poles and wire that were planted last year along the entire length of the line.
