PLL 1012 at the Lakeport Siding

There's a lot of "Scenic" to enjoy with the Winnipesaukee Scenic's Lakeside Ride that follows along the big lake's western shore and into Paugus Bay.

The rides starts and ends in Meredith, with an intermediate stop at Weirs Beach. Lakeport on Paugus Bay is the southern end of the ride. Passengers stay aboard, though they get to experience the crew doing a runaround with the locomotive to place it on the north end of the train.

Here was their SW1000, along with some scenery, on the north leg of the runaround track heading south to reconnect to their consist of 4 coaches and a caboose. The caboose is fully equipped for use as a shoving platform in case time does not allow for a full runaround.

You will find crews that are very friendly and professional.

Do they have an Alcos running??

S1 #958 is the main power for the Lincoln trains, S3 #1186 is the back up for Lincoln. Just further down from this picture, S1's #959 and #1008 are stored. 959 is inside the engine shed, 1008 is outside. Both are out-of-service.
