The PA units as seen here at Colonie were rendered surplus when Amtrak did not continue D&H's Laurentian route. Amtrak relented a few years later and the PAs were returned to service under Amtrak operation for a brief time. They did a brief stint on the MBTA, much to local railfans' delight, before being sold to Mexico. At last report #17 and #19 shown here were still there at a museum.
