The CapeFLYER Train On Saturday June 22nd, 2019

Photographed here is the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority’s (i.e., MBTA) 1139 clearing the historic railroad station located in West Barnstable, Massachusetts on the Cape Main Line. The locomotive for today’s run was an General Motors Electro - Motive Division (i.e., GMD) GP40MC numbered 1139, which was built in August of 1975. This particular train had just begun its seventh summer of commuter rail service on Memorial Day Weekend between the Hyannis Railroad Depot in Hyannisport, Massachusetts and South Station in Boston, Massachusetts. MBTA HSP46 2002 was tied onto the north end of that morning’s train.
