Visitor Comments about this Photo:These were in Hopedale? That's very interesting. I thought this company was pretty much almost dead. Posted by Richard Andre on 2019-11-13 19:14:49 Did these containers on Railrunner Bogies/chassis get delivered to G&U via CSX? Is this for another round of dirty dirt loading at Hopedale? Posted by John Barlow on 2019-11-14 06:55:32 These are not useful for dirt as they are enclosed boxes. They were brought to Hopedale ( presently the end of the line ) by G& U. They are probably being stored. Rail work proceeding very slowly now. Posted by Edward Freedman on 2019-11-14 07:28:47 Understood shipping container's lack of suitability for dirty dirt. This configuration of containers on bogies and purpose-built chassis is just not seen these days in American railroading anywhere of which I'm aware. Railrunner is headquartered in Lexington, MA - maybe G&U is participating in a showcase demonstration of the technology? Posted by John Barlow on 2019-11-14 08:57:17 Or the units are being sold off? Posted by Edward Freedman on 2019-11-14 09:00:43 Or, could JDP be building a terminal in Hopedale for this company? They are located in Lexington,MA. A local customer and a little show and tell.
