Classy Old Lady

Despite its weatherbeaten siding the 1875 depot at Kingston, RI was still a real beauty and one of my favorites. The arch detail on the windows and the arched roof dormers add appealing style. And best of all it was still a working station. The sign on the end of the platform canopy was standard old New Haven design but a newer sign over the agent's bay has had the NH logo replaced by a PC logo. Old sashes and doors remain original, but the maintenance department has overlaid the agents bay windows with some kind of overglazing for heat retention and security. So glad this station was restored and still performs a vital service
