That is a trumell used to wash stone. It goes up on the rollers on the frame behind.
It rotates and water is sprayed on the stone to wash off the dirt (gold) and give you
clean ballast.

Two more of these recently arrived as well as a lot more ties, rail and ballast. Some big expansion obviously in the works. 8/4/2020.

I thought maybe they were going to convert one of the MP-15s to turbine power.

The gas turbine units they tried at on point scared horses a state away! Chrysler's trial of them in semis didn't work out either although those power plants ended up in the Abrams tank.
