PLLX 1012 on the Weirs Beach BoardwalkHere was PLLX 1012, recently, as they were making a stop on an overcast and somewhat quiet day on the Weirs Beach Boardwalk. This intermediate stop offers passengers the choice of a one or two hour train rides on the hour from 11 to 2pm, and a one hour offering at 3pm. With a dimmed headlamp, this train would be heading north to Meredith, after picking up and dropping off passengers. An former CN caboose is used as a shoving platform, complete with all the lights, bells, and whistles.
To your right is the famous M.V. Mount Washington cruise boat that was docked for the time being.
PLLX 1012 is a 1000hp SW1000 built for Burlington Northern in 1970. It has been the main road power for the Winnipesaukee Scenic since September of 2014.
