Gardner Ma

Today's PW in Gardner yard bringing in a along string of empties and taking 24 loads back to Worcester. With the pending purchase of Pan Am by CSX will this scene be a thing of the past? Any thoughts?

Visitor Comments about this Photo:

One can only wonder about the future. If CSX takes over PAS/PAR it would seem as if two routes across Massachusetts could be redundant. CSX could use the Worcester-Ayer route for access to Maine and eliminate upstart P&W/G&W from "stealing" through traffic bound for Worcester. You could eliminate much of the need for traffic going through Hoosac by being able to route most of it via the old B&A.
