Batten Kill 4116 southbound on Friday April 16, 2021

It's finally happened !! The "Snideley Whiplash Memorial Tree" has taken a tumble onto the Batten Kill's mainline -- maybe Nell got flattened. Mark and Paul are contemplating the coming winter's uncut firewood hoping there's enough gas for the chainsaw stashed away in the engine. It will be a while before the four empties behind the venerable ALCO will make the final mile to Eagle Bridge for setout. But there's no hurry as their arriving cars from East Deerfield are stuck on an outlawed 11R in Hoosick Junction awaiting a recrew.
