Pan Am Slurry Train passes 22K at Ayer

As the NS power backs a lengthy 22K single stacked consist into Hill Yard intermodal pad at Ayer just after sunrise, the weekly Bellows Falls to Portland slurry train BFPO passes on track 1 approaching Sandy Pond Rd Ayer. BFPO handles calcium carbonate produced at Omya's Florence VT facility from interchange with the Green Mountain RR at Bellows Falls to the various Maine paper mills. BFPO will proceed another 10 miles or so and tie down on the main at Westford for an eventual recrew.
